Technical: File Association

Description of Problem:

• .ICA file is trying to open with another application other than Citrix Connection Center

Symptoms/Issue(s):

1. Adobe, or internet Explorer will open instead of Accounting Core

Solution:

1. Locate where the .ica file downloads to. Usually the downloads file.
2. Right click on the file and choose “Open With.”
3. When the window pops up choose “More Apps” and make sure the “Always use this app to open .ica file” is checked.
4. When it shows the other apps choose the link at the bottom “Look for another app on this PC.”
5. It will open the file explorer. Navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Citrix\ICA Client\wfcrun32.exe. Click “Open” when you highlight the file wfcrun.exe.
6. The file icon will change to the Citrix circle. It may try to open that file and will fail because it has timed out because the file is too old. If you click on the AC icon again it will load with the correct program because you just told it to always use that program to open .ica files.
