The most reliable answer to this question is to install the software and drivers that come with your device and to follow the manufacturer’s instructions and recommendations.
Please consider that even though you may be able to print or scan from Windows with your device, this is no guarantee that it will work with M3 if you have not installed the specific software and drivers. Microsoft often assigns a universal driver, such as the Microsoft Enhanced Point and Print Compatibility driver, which does not work well with check printing in M3 for example.
